Janet Roller - Living Oak Ministries

My photo
Hi. I'm Janet Roller: wife of one, mother of two, lover of coffee and writer of songs. I have just finished my first fiction novel and I'm looking forward to watching how God uses the simple story to minister to others. God is a big deal to me. My goal each day is to wake up and declare, "This day is Yours, Lord. Show me what to do with it."

Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.

Today's Verse
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship him in spirit and in truth.
— John 4:24 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Genuine worship is a gift. Since God is spirit, since he is holy, we cannot fully approach him without the gift and blessing of his Holy Spirit. As Christians who received his Spirit when we were baptized into Christ and born of God, we can now speak to him and worship him Spirit to Spirit.

My Prayer...
Father, by the gift of your Spirit I come to you as your child. Thank you so much for giving me your Spirit so that I can approach you with confidence and know you hear the concerns of my heart. Please accept the worship of my heart, of my words, and of my actions. May the things I do each day bring you glory. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

I am very excited to add a booking date to my calendar today. Yesterday it was confirmed that I will be leading worship for the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Conference at Rigecrest Conference Center, May 16-20.

I attended the conference in 2008 (thanks to a scholarship provided by Cec Murphey)and have been aching to return. Now, I will return to soak in all of the knowledge from noted authors like Al Gansky, Jerry Jenkins, Angela Hunt, Deb Raney, Yvonne Lehman, Eva Marie Everson and, of course, Cec Murphey! I cannot express how honored and excited I am to be a part of such a wonderful event. May God be glorified!
